Job Summary

The Clinical Laboratory Scientist II supports the development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. Working independently under director's guidance, performs assay and equipment validation, authors standard operating procedure and develops training and competency documents and ensures quality and regulatory compliance.

Pay Range

Minimum $50.40 Midpoint $66.78 Maximum $83.16

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Minimum one (1) year of Clinical Laboratory experience.

Preferred: Two (2) to five (5) years of Clinical Laboratory experience.

Education

Required: Bachelor degree - Biological Science.

Training

Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

Required: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English effectively at a level appropriate for the safe and effective performance of the job. Proficient knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area. Strong attention to detail, vigilance, poise, and composure in stressful situations.

Licensure

Required: Clinical Lab Scientist-CA (CLS); Limited Licensed CLS may be accepted in lieu of a General CLS.

* Preferred: American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Work Environments - Functional Demand:
