THE OPPORTUNITY

The Intern with the Chipotle Business Development team will play a vital role in supporting the international expansion efforts of Chipotle into new countries and territories. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work on high-impact projects that blend strategy, creativity, and data analysis. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Market Research: Build a fact-based view of Japan’s foodservice supply environment and constraints as the relate to Chipotle. Identify local vs imported ingredient norms, and research Japan’s foodservice market structure with an emphasis on Chipotle’s ingredients.  

  • Supply Strategy: Define a realistic sourcing approach by assessing regulatory bottlenecks, lead times, and regional options in line with Chipotle’s FWI requirements.   

  • Creative Solutions: Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and propose innovative ideas and solutions for the challenges of entering new international markets. 

  • Financial Analysis: Build landed cost models, including freight options, duties and tariffs, and cold chain costs 

  • Partnerships and Alliances: Explore potential partnerships, collaborations, or joint ventures that could facilitate Chipotle's expansion in the region. 

  • Presentation: Create compelling presentations and reports to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Currently enrolled in a business program at a top university. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities. 

  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. 

  • International experience in a personal or professional capacity 

  • Experience and/or interest in the restaurant and food industry is a plus. 

  • Being a Chipotle fan is a requirement. 

PAY TRANSPARENCY 

Pay rate is $25 per hour, depending on skill level, experience, and/ or education. Compensation offered is also subject to local wage and hour laws.
