Job DetailsJob Location: Children's Museum of Phoenix - Phoenix, AZ 850348503Salary Range: $15.55 - $15.55 Hourly  Department: Visitor Development    FLSA Status: Part-Time / Non-Exempt  / Temporary Reports to: Café Manager  Direct Reports: Café Lead Associate  Compensation: $15.10 plus possible tips Summary: Baristas are the shining faces of the café, here to help all guests satisfy their cravings in Delish! This blooming job involves making coffees of all sorts, running pastries and lunch bites to customers, and entertaining the families that we see daily. Maintain the cleanliness of the café and keep everyone in good spirits with quick customer service in a positive community and work environment.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:     Welcome and acknowledge all visitors to the café   Inform families on / enforce all Museum Safety Protocols  Process credit card, cash, and other monetary transactions in a fast-paced environment  Prepare coffees and teas with espresso machines, coffee brewers, and other machinery  Meet Department Revenue Goals  Promote all current sales and discounts   Refresh café dining room by wiping tables, sweeping floors, and removing waste  Communicate positively and professionally to co-workers at all levels of the organization  Balancing and managing daily cash drawers  Stay up to date on museum policies, exhibits, and events  Other duties as assigned    Qualification/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  Strong interpersonal skills and communication  Creative approaches to problems and unique scenarios  Availability on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and some evenings for Special Events   Customer-service orientation  Strong ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines and changing environments  Experience working with Children and Families   Comfortable in large groups of people  Basic Computer skills  Basic Mathematic Skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)  Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages desirable  QualificationsSupervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.  Education/Training/Experience:  High School graduate or GED  Minimum 1 year of customer service and cash handling experience preferred   Must meet requirements of employment background check  Must have / obtain Food Handlers Card    Language Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from visitors. Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages desirable.  Mathematical Skills: Literacy in numbers, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts as well as basic mathematic skills (subtraction, multiplication, division).  Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills and point-of-sale systems; becoming efficient in Square POS and KDS through training and usage to successfully meet departmental responsibilities.    Physical Requirements:  The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain standing in front of a computer for up to 8 hours and must have good communication skills (i.e., communicate clearly and effectively in both written and spoken English). The employee must be able to see well and able read fine print. This job also requires the use of a computer and must be able to lift boxes weighing up to 25 pounds.    Environmental Requirements:  Must be able to work in a well-lit, temperature-controlled work area. May also be exposed to extreme weather conditions with constant ambient noise levels. Must be able to work in an open area with other employees.
