A Brief Overview
The Senior HRIS Analyst plays a key role in the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of the organization's Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This includes leading and/or performing system implementations, configurations, modifications, and integrations to ensure HRIS processes and data management align with business needs. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, management of HRIS-related projects, and identifying opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency are essential. The role also drives the design and development of reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making across HR functions. Additionally, the Sr HRIS Analyst provides advanced user support, troubleshoots system issues, conducts training sessions, and ensures compliance with data privacy and security regulations.

Essential Functions

Systems & Operations: 

  • Oversee the day-to-day administration and configuration of the HRIS platform(s) ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively. Work closely with HR and IT teams to perform regular system reviews and updates for HR processes such as recruiting, onboarding, benefits, performance management, compensation, artificial intelligence, and payroll. 
  • Review HRIS vendor release notes to understand and assess upcoming functionality changes and new features. This involves analyzing detailed descriptions of updates to identify their impact on workflows, user experience, and system performance. Collaborate with applicable teams to coordinate, plan, test, and ensure a smooth implementation. 
  • Lead, participate, and support HRIS-related projects as a subject matter expert by providing expert guidance and recommendations on system functionality, workflow, configuration, and best practices. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams – such as HR, IT, finance, business operations, and external vendors - to implement and optimize HR data solutions that align with their needs and objectives. 
  • Act as an escalation point for troubleshooting and resolving HRIS-related questions and issues in a timely manner. 
  • Conduct auditing of data to ensure its accuracy, consistency, and completeness across systems. This includes identifying and correcting discrepancies, always ensuring a high level of data integrity.

Reporting, Integrations, & Analytics: 

  • Design, develop, deliver, and administer a range of reports, dashboards, and analytics, from basic informational reports to complex statistical analyses, all aimed at supporting HR and business objectives.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and administer a variety of integrations between HRIS and external/internal systems. Ensure seamless data flow, including vendor connectivity, data validation, and scheduled tasks.
  • Ensure data accuracy and actionable insights for key stakeholders.

Systems Documentation, Training, & Change Management: 

  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, integrations, and processes to ensure clarity and consistency in system use. 
  • Develop and deliver training materials for HRIS users, either in a classroom, virtual, or 1-1 training session, ensuring proper understanding and utilization of HRIS functionalities and new system features. 
  • Participate in the change management process, ensuring all changes to systems, processes, or technologies are carefully planned, communicated, and executed. When necessary, collaborate with change management experts to apply best practices.


Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree In Human Resources, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent work experience required

Experience Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in an HRIS role, including hands-on experience with system implementation, administration, troubleshooting, and supporting HR initiatives. required 
  • Minimum 7 years' experience with Oracle HCM Cloud or similar HRIS system(s) required 
  • Minimum 7 years'  report, dashboards, and/or analytics development, maintenance, and problem resolution required
  • Minimum 7 years' integration development, maintenance, and problem resolution Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills are necessary to interact with varying levels of team members and leaders. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Advanced organization skills and project management experience essential for meeting tight deadlines as well as managing multiple tasks in a timely manner.
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS platforms and reporting/integration tools (SQL, Power BI, Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle HCM Extract, etc.)
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • High degree of computer literacy. Excellent analytical, problem solving, and complex logic skills.
  • Strong Customer Service skills.

Licenses and Certifications

  • HRIS-related certifications (e.g. Oracle, Workday) preferred
