Department OverviewThe Administration Department is responsible for these key activities: representation of administration on the St. Paul and Minneapolis Campuses, policy and procedure clearinghouse, business development, child advocacy and child policy, and community health and preventive medicine.
Position SummaryThe Senior Director of Strategy is a system-level leader responsible for driving enterprise strategic planning, growth priorities, and long-term positioning for the health system. This role leads high-impact strategic initiatives, provides market and portfolio insights, partners with operational executives to translate strategy into execution, and ensures alignment across clinical service lines, hospital, and ambulatory networks.
The Senior Director collaborates closely with the VP of Clinical Innovation and reports directly to the Vice President/ Chief of Staff for the organization as a key member of their leadership team. The role will lead a multi-functional team and lead through influence across the organization, building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across the organization and with external partners.
The Senior Director serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and plays a central role in shaping the organization's future direction amid rapid changes in healthcare delivery, payment models, and competitive dynamics.
License/Certification/Registration required? No
Education:
Advanced degree required (MBA, MHA or related healthcare degree)
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years' experience in strategy or business development roles, including within health care
Proven experience in strategic planning and business growth, with an understanding of the health care industry and the processes and methodologies for strategy execution.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Exceptional strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial modeling skills
Ability to influence senior executives and physician leaders
Highly collaborative with an innate ability to manage stakeholders
Strong understanding of healthcare market dynamics, finances, and clinical operations
Outstanding communication and presentation skills
Highly organized with ability to manage budgets and multiple initiatives
Demonstrated leadership and team development abilities
The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.
In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
