Department Overview

Our Minneapolis neonatal float team is an integral part of nursing services provided within our neonatal community - from the special care nursery up through our level III and level IV neonatal intensive care units. Team members are able to apply specific skills sets to these departments and provide additional resources as needs are identified. The team is a valuable resource for the entire neonatal hospital system. Our nursing care team consists of registered nurses, clinical support associates and unit operations coordinators. RNs hired into this area would support our Special Care Nursery, Infant Care Center and Neonatal Intensive Care units. The neonatal float team offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day. We value teamwork, open communication, safety and respect. CSAs: Clinical Support Associates hired into this position would support all areas in the hospital except the Operating Rooms on the Minneapolis campus. This approach offers the flexibility of working in different units while learning new skills every day.



Position Summary

Provides safe patient care as delegated by licensed nursing staff and maintains equipment and supplies per unit standard.



Completed a nursing assistant course or equivalent experience, or completed a nursing or health care related clinical practicum course. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience
One year of previous Nursing Assistant experience or equivalent experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities
Proficient communication, critical thinking, and prioritization skills required.
Strong organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and speak effectively in English to perform functions of the position.
Skills in basic computer operation.

The posted salary represents a market competitive range based on salary survey benchmark data for similar roles in the local or national market. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs.

In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
