Overview

Lead IT Systems Applications Engineer oversees programming and support for application systems development and maintenance projects, with a commitment to stakeholder satisfaction. Provides technical expertise and support to analysts and engineers. Lead Engineers oversees medium size projects/technical initiatives through all phases of the systems development lifecycle including planning, development, implementation, issue management and operational transition for support. Leads maintenance and support of Business Applications, data integrity and environments including configuration of application settings and security. Manages comprehensive system monitoring to ensure optimal system stability, while consistently meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Operational Performance Agreements (OPAs). Lead Engineer develops Application Engineer skills through coaching, training, and feedback. #LI-DNI

Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of programming, build of programs and scripts for integrations, monitoring, data transmissions, reports, dashboards, workflows, scripts and queries to support the Business Applications as needed. Manage the investigation and implementation of new technology presented by the vendor for data replication, reporting, analytics, and workflows. Lead engineers in gathering requirements and documenting design and operational support documentation.
  • Provide troubleshooting and system support by overseeing implementation of solutions to complex issues with application configuration, security, and data replications across multiple environments. Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving. Answer user questions and track problems received. Troubleshoot system and data issues and failures. Lead implementation of audits/process improvements to promote system integrity. Manage the methods to track and resolve issues and questions. Lead the team in monitoring systemic problems to proactively identify, determine root cause and resolve before they become larger. Research solutions and implement with minimal impact to users and development.
  • Oversee upgrading, configuring, testing and maintaining business applications by working closely with developers and analysts. This includes application security, programming, data copies and data replications.
  • Manage written and verbal communication with Vendors, Analysts, Functional Teams/Stakeholders, and Managers to gather requirements, report progress, issues, and project details. Respond to user requests and incidents. Assist with coordinating meetings / testing times with functional teams and outside vendors.
  • Engineer will lead engineers in the design, build and support of SQL jobs and processes to extract and load data into data warehouses and data marts, and development and maintenance of analytics cubes. Work closely with DBAs to monitor and optimize performance of databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical related degree (CS, CIS, MIS) or related field and 5-7 years' experience leading work in application development, software engineering, and application support/administration or related experience. OR
  • Associate's Degree in a technical related degree (CS, CIS, MIS) or related field or equivalent technical training/certifications and 7 or more years' experience leading work in application development, software engineering, and application support/administration or related experience. OR
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 9+ years' leading work in application development, software engineering, and application support/administration or related experience.

Starting Pay

Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $50.52/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.

 

 

Remote Work/Work from Home

This position is entirely remote or work from home. The person hired must live in the Kansas City metro area or request advanced approval to work outside of the area and may attend onsite meetings, as scheduled.
