Summary:
The Manager of Learning and Development plans, develops, and implements leadership development programs and processes, ensuring alignment with organizational values and strategic goals. The role leads a team of leadership facilitators equipped to facilitate learning and development activities that effectively prepare leaders and professionals to improve individual and team performance. The role leads the team responsible for all leadership development solutions in order to meet the changing leadership demands of the healthcare industry, to grow Children's Health's national reputation as a top pediatric provider, and to support Children's Health growth strategy, mission, and values.
Responsibilities:
Directs all aspects of the Leadership Development team such as daily operations, team engagement, team structure,
Team priorities, and performance management.
Oversees hiring, onboarding, team sizing, skill development, and training to build a capable and scalable team.
Promotes a culture of collaboration, trust and accountability within the facilitation team.
Aligns programs with Children’s People Priorities, as defined by Chief People Officer, and learning strategy in conjunction with
Sr. Director, Talent Development and Learning.
Identifies opportunities for and proposes solutions for improving leadership and team performance.
Maintains high standards for all learning materials and plans to ensure that leaders and team members receive exceptional
Learning experiences.
Identifies, selects, and implements leadership development tools including, but not limited to, leadership assessments,
Vendor-designed curricula, and any external solutions; manages relevant vendor relationships.
Works in conjunction with leader to ensure that financial investments are sound and budgeted.
Stays up to date on industry trends and continuously improves knowledge, skills, and attitudes in both leadership and
Corporate learning. Is a continuous independent learner who utilizes their personal learning network for ongoing growth.
Works in partnership with Sr. Director on Measurement Strategy to select vendor partners and pilot new ways of learning
(personalized journeys, AI enabled, etc.)
Job Specific Responsibilities
Measures effectiveness of learning programs using evaluation data, feedback and performance metrics, continuously refining
programs.
Collaborates with Instructional Design team to ensure program design and delivery plans reflect learning standards
Collaborates with Talent Team to optimize learning resource availability post succession and enterprise talent reviews and
Provide resources at the point of need
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible start times negotiable)
Work Experience
At least 8 years Leadership development experience and program implementation. Required
At least 5 years Expertise with leadership development curriculum Required
At least 3 years People and program leadership experience Preferred
Education
Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Education, Instructional Design, Org Development, HR, Business Required
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Organizational development/organizational behavior Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Certification in commonly used Learning Development tools (assessments, surveys, etc.) Preferred
Leadership Facilitation (ex. Franklin Covery, DDI, etc.) Preferred
