Summary:
This position is responsible for operational and administrative aspects of one or more departments within Children's Health System of Texas. This position will provide leadership for operational, financial, analytical, administrative and contractual functions that are integral to the success of the division. Additionally, this role will provide leadership to assist with development of programs, policies and systems while also serving in strategic liaison roles with external departments, as well as executing operational plans.
Responsibilities:
Maintain day-to-day operational and administrative aspects to optimize availability, efficiency and effective services. Create and / or adhere to budgets and fiscal goals to include review and establishment of fees, lending expertise towards efficient allocation of resources, reviewing fiscal reports and monitoring accounting processes, budget preparation, etc. Oversee and monitor operational aspects of the specific assigned businesses/departments, including but not limited to ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. Contribute in coordinating recruitment efforts, credentialing functions, contract negotiations and assist with monitoring work performance(s).
Provide leadership to assist with development of programs, policies and systems to optimize departmental and practice services. Work in broad scope with other leaders to accomplish strategic inter-departmental goals as well as in liaison functionality with external departments to achieve institutional progression.
Responsible for building and maintaining databases of information related to specific areas of oversight.
Compliance: Ensures that compliance materials and manuals are updated to reflect changes in policies and / or practices (state / federal / others) in areas of responsibility. Leads the efforts of operationalizing all changes to audit plans, processes, reports, etc.
In partnership with Finance, develops and manages budgets for assigned areas, focusing on cost management initiatives and programs to improve financial performance.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned to include but not limited to EPIC involvement / upgrade implementation, committee participation and / or establishment, cost-containment initiatives (revenue generation or cost containment), OSHA preparedness, etc., as applicable.
WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years related experience specific to the assigned department/division, which may include healthcare finance and/or revenue cycle and/or physician practice operations, among others Required
At least 3 years healthcare management experience (operations and / or clinical experience) Required
EDUCATION
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Preferred
