Summary:
Leads and manages the strategy, planning, and business development function which proactively identifies and drives projects specific to the development of enterprise-wide strategic plan, service-line planning, volume forecasting, capital planning, facilities planning, and other areas within the organization. Responsible for providing direction and day-to-day leadership to project teams and collaborating with executive, clinical, and physician leaders to develop and implement strategies, manage key initiatives, and projects for the health system. Leads cross-functional initiative teams, which may include facilitating leadership conversations to drive decision-making. Participates in special projects at the direction of leadership. Maintains an understanding of the overall performance and competitive position of Children's Health.

Responsibilities:
Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business; requires conceptual, innovative, analytical, and critical thinking skills to develop solutions
Consults with stakeholders and subject matter experts on developing solutions to address issues. Uses critical thinking to create business plans, policies, and procedures applicable at the system level
Leads long-term projects with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for project execution
Demonstrates strong emotional intelligence in communication within all levels of CHST’s leadership; able to work on projects concurrently and meet deadlines; able to prioritize projects and related steps; able to work independently.
Anticipates business and regulatory issues; recommends improvements to products, processes or services
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view; works on cross functional teams
Job Specific Responsibilities
Leads project teams in formulation, preparation, and communication of strategic business plans
Leads analyses to evaluate CHST enterprise-wide strategic opportunities and business development partnerships, develops strategic responses (initiatives), and prepares recommendations for executive leadership for review and approval in collaboration with the Senior Director of Strategy and Business Development and / or Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development.
Leads market analysis to develop and implement national, regional, and local growth opportunities, all aligned with the CHST’s strategic plan.
Develops materials to effectively communicate the enterprise-wide strategy and progress towards the defined strategic goals.
Evaluates CHST's competitive position and performance across the CHST enterprise.
Communicates priorities and expectations, monitors progress, and provides direction and course corrections along the way..
Interfaces and works across the matrix of the organization constructively with all CHST enterprise leadership and teams.
Completes other projects as assigned by leadership.
Communicates well with others in the organization and develops productive relationship with other Children's Health employees.
Coaches and mentor project teams, driving the development of their skills and knowledge


WORK EXPERIENCE
At least 7 years Management or consulting experience as a strategy, operations or financial manager with a proven track record of success in a health care provide setting. Req
Proficiency in market/competitive analysis, financial analysis, issue identification, and implications development. Req

EDUCATION
Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Req
Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Req

Typically accountable for the performance and results of multiple teams performing related activities
Develops long-term plans and strategies for area of defined responsibility aligned with established functional strategies, and works with subordinate managers to operationalize and execute the strategy
Communicates priorities and expectations, monitors progress, and provides direction and course corrections along the way
Makes decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives that affect the results of the function
Analyzes key trends and input from individuals in the team to make meaningful changes that directly and significantly affect short-term results
Establishes budgets and holds subordinate managers accountable for managing to achieve expected financial results
Works on cross functional teams to develop and implement solutions that have a broad impact on the organization's operations and processes
