POSITION SUMMARY
Performs various functions to prepare and process warranty claims for submission to bus manufacturers and components suppliers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Retrieves and inputs vehicle data from various systems and contacts into databases that are essential to the maintenance of buses covered under warranty contracts.
• Updates, maintains and organizes multiple databases to ensure the integrity of the records.
• Analyzes, generates and compares data in order to monitor vendor performance and workflow.
• Analyzes data to assist management in identifying vehicle maintenance trends and status.
• Generates various reports for management and other departments within CTA to report vehicle status and trends.
• Works with external manufacturers and vendors to resolve claim issues and schedule vehicle repairs.
• Assists in the development and maintenance of vehicle information systems and procedures to ensure accurate management of data and efficient operations.
• Participates in the training and implementation of new systems, including the new vehicle maintenance systems (MMIS).
Performs related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Must be familiar with the technical terms and language utilized in Bus Garages, Shop Operations and Vendors for the maintenance and repair of vehicles.
• Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to competently operate personal computer systems to develop and maintain business applications using standard software such as MS Word, Access, Excel and other computer systems including: VMS, AIT, ERP and MMIS.
• Required to be diligent and organized in the posting and filing of material
• Required to have discretion necessary for dealing with confidential information.
• Required to communicate effectively both orally and in writing technical information as it relates to vehicle maintenance, warranty contracts and information management processes.
• Required to possess a suitable temperament and disposition in order to maintain amiable and effective relations when dealing with Vendors and other CTA employees.
• Must be capable of learning the office methods and procedures utilized within the section.
