Overview

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Plans and delivers professional nursing care to patients in accordance with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and Cherokee Nation Health Services' mission, vision, and values.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of Associate’s degree in Nursing from a two-year college or technical school; no exceptions.

No experience is required.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a license as a Registered Nurse (RN) from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN) or possess a multistate RN license accepted by the OBN, no substitutions. Must maintain license throughout employment.

Basic Life Support (BLS); must be obtained during orientation and maintained throughout employment.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.

National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained throughout employment.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – within 6 months of hire and maintain throughout employment.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – within 12 months of hire and maintain throughout employment.

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – within 12 months of hire and maintain throughout employment.

Triage Competency (Minimum of 1 year Emergency Department (ED) experience) before performing triage.

 

RECOMMENDED:

Electrocardiogram (ECG) Interpretation and Dysrhythmia Course – within 6 months of hire and maintain annually.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

May be required to meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.

A driver’s license may be required to work in some departments. If so, the applicant/employee must possess a valid driver’s license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

 

Work Hours: 1930-0800 with rotating weekends
