Overview

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of a Data Analytics Analyst is to design and implement data extraction and analysis processes of the Cherokee Nation Health Services system. Creates, implements, monitors, and supports data extraction out of multiple database systems using SQL and other database coding tools. Works with healthcare providers, other stakeholders, and other technical personnel to coordinate the implementation of new clinical and financial documentation tools.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Epidemiology, Finance, Mathematics, Public Health, or other quantitative field.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a related clinical or Health Information Technology field preferred.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in Analytical and/or Business Intelligence report creation preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to correct/adjust focus.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • Experience with manual data manipulation tasks, SQL query design and optimization, visualization tools, and data modeling to evaluate structured and unstructured data.
  • Knowledge of database structure, healthcare workflows, and terminology.
  • Exposure to statistical software such as R or Python.
