Retail Technology Architect

Reports To: IT Customer Solutions Director
Location: Remote / Hybrid / Troy, MI

SUMMARY:

Champion Retail Homes is seeking a skilled Retail Technology Architect to bridge business stakeholders and technical teams. This role emphasizes gathering and documenting business requirements, with strong expertise in CRM systems (particularly Salesforce) and solid technical knowledge. You will support a major integration project connecting Oracle ERP, Salesforce CRM, and custom applications by engaging stakeholders, documenting processes, and translating requirements into clear work items in Azure DevOps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with stakeholders in retail management, retail marketing, finance and IT to capture and document business needs and current processes.
  • Key deliverables include project intake agreements, facilitation discovery sessions, documentation of detailed process maps, screen flow mockups, report mockups, use cases, and test scripts.
  • Convert business requirements into well-defined work items (features, user stories, tasks) in Azure DevOps, including acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate on backlog prioritization towards efficient feature delivery and stakeholder timeframes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to test new features and provide feedback on feature adoption.
  • Support project manager by providing status updates and helping track open decisions, risks, and tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, software development, software engineering, or similar field.
  • Functional expertise in Salesforce CRM configuration, integration, best practices.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Oracle), .NET applications, APIs, and system integrations.
  • Proficiency in business analysis methods, process documentation, and Agile practices.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills to collaborate effectively with team.
  • Retail domain knowledge, inventory and lead management, and retail sales processes.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar (JIRA, GitHub) for backlog management, boards, and work item tracking.
  • Experience in SOX/audit-controlled environments and working with PII.
