Specific Responsibilities Would Include

The job role is responsible for overseeing the entire product development process within an organization. This position entails strategic planning, team leadership, and cross-departmental collaboration to ensure that products align with the company’s vision and market demands.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the overall product development strategy, aligning it with the company's business goal.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor product development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
  • Market Trends Analysis: Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify trends, consumer needs, and competitive positioning to guide product direction.
  • Product Portfolio Management: Oversee the product portfolio, making decisions on product lifecycle management, including introductions, updates, and discontinuations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross functional teams within the company and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless product development and launch processes.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets for product development initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present product development updates and strategies to senior executives and stakeholders, ensuring alignment on vision and goals.

Our Best Fit Candidate Would Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of proven experience in merchandising
  • Leadership and Team Building: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic planning capabilities, with a keen ability to identify industry trends and adapt product strategies accordingly.

  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes relevant to the product area.

  • Analytical Skills: Expertise in data analysis and market research to inform product decisions, driving business success.

  • Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effectively conveying ideas and engaging with stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a focus on addressing challenges and developing effective solutions.

  • Project Management Experience: Proven ability to manage projects efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, promoting a positive and productive work environment.

  • Adaptability: Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations and priorities.
