JOB SUMMARY                                       

The G.M. of Production, sometimes called a Plant Manager, oversees all aspects of a manufacturing facility, leading teams, optimizing production processes, ensuring quality and driving efficiency to achieve financial objectives.  

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Leadership and Management 

Lead and motivate a team of production employees, including managers and supervisors 

Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the production department 

Implement and maintain a culture of continuous improvement 

Production Operations 

Oversee all aspects of the production process, from raw materials to finished goods 

Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs 

Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety regulations 

Manage production schedules and ensure timely delivery of products 

Financial Management 

Develop and manage production budgets 

Monitor and control production costs 

Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improvement 

Strategic Planning 

Develop and implement production plans to meet company goals 

Identify and address potential production problems 

Stay informed about industry trends and best practices 

Other Duties 

Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations 

Manage inventory and procurement processes 

Develop and implement training programs for production employees 

Provide regular reports on production performance to senior management

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS 

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or related field 

5+ years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in an ISO 9001 manufacturing facility 

Proficiency in Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies 

Strong leadership and communication skills 

Expertise in production management and quality standards 

Financial and budgetary management experience 

WORK CONDITIONS  

Physical Demands/Work Environment:   

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.  It also occasionally requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.  This list is not meant to cover every possible scenario but simply provide an outline.  Employees may be assigned other tasks as needed.
