Rumford Community Home is searching for a Per-Diem Certified Nursing Assistant for variable shifts!

Responsibilities

Position Summary:

 

CNA contributes to resident plan of care, including activities of daily living, recreation, transportation, under RN/LPN direction. Emphasis on resident privacy, confidentiality, and LTC focus.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Performs patient care responsibilities considering needs specific to the standard of care for resident's age.
  • Provides patient care that meets the psychosocial and physical needs of the resident within the CNA's scope of practice
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform procedures within the CNA's scope of practice per state law.
  • Reports patient complaints of pain to the assigned charge nurse.
  • Observes resident's mental and physical conditions as appropriate to scope of practice, reports any changes to charge nurse.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner to all team members.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies and is completed timely.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
  • LTC-focused duties:
    • Supporting resident plan of care
    • Admissions, discharges within LTC context
    • Recreation, transporting residents, meal/snack prep
    • Skin care monitoring
    • Assisting with restorative nursing programs
    • Maintaining a homelike environment
    • Escorting residents, engaging them in activities
    • Resident behavior management within LTC protocols

Customer Service:

  • Interacts with all stakeholders in a consistent manner, providing attention, support, and assistance to foster an environment of exceptional personal service.
    • Maintains a pleasant and helpful demeanor, and presents a professional appearance toward all internal and external customers at all times.
    • Take appropriate action to recover from a service difficulty, ensuring that the necessary action is taken to affect a resolution to the customer’s problem.
    • Conducts all work activities with respect for team members, including the maintenance of a pleasant and professional environment, fostering calmness during stressful situations.
    • Interacts with supervisory personnel in a professional, supportive and courteous manner, venting emotions appropriate to time and place.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to service by consistent attendance and punctuality, scheduling absences according to departmental requirements, and incurring unplanned absences only when unavoidable circumstances exist.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • CNA certification (Maine)
    • Maine registry listing
    • Age 16+
    • High school diploma preferred
    • LTC experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to engage patients and team members utilizing the CMH Experience Standards
