MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST MT/MLS/MLT

 

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Medical Technologist to join the Bridgton Hospital Pathology team!

 

This is a Part-time, 20 hours per week, beneift eligible position

 

The Medical Technologist performs routine and complex procedures in blood bank, chemistry, hematology, serology, microbiology, urinalysis, and phlebotomy.

  • obtains and receives specimens, performs clinical laboratory tests by standardized procedures, understands method principles, performs quality control, performs preventative maintenance, and interprets results as to accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits.
  • works independently, organizes work to meet established deadlines, records all data obtained, and maintains job competence.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Regulatory Requirements:

  • Certification as a Medical Technologist MT/MLS/MLT/CLT by ASCP or equivalent, required within 6 months of hire.
  • B.S degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related science from an accredited school preferred
  • Non-traditional routes to establish skill level may be accepted after review of experience and education.
