Find your purpose as a Data Analyst with CentraCare! CentraCare Center for Analytics is seeking an experienced Data Analyst. Ideal candidate will demonstrate both analytical and technical expertise and be familiar with healthcare practices or workflows. 

The Data Analyst is an integral member of the Center for Analytics team that is responsible for defining analytic approaches, integrating multiple analyses, and developing analytic understanding of problems to identify issues and opportunities to motivate action. Performs highly complex and in-depth data analysis in multiple areas of healthcare operations, both clinical and business. Gathers and refines complex data assets and data sources, providing insights into hypotheses under consideration and creating elegant, multi-issue analytic findings and recommendations. Draws upon healthcare knowledge, trends, and experiences to highlight relevant implications while effectively engaging with leaders to facilitate organized teams, ensure meaningful results are achieved, and build ongoing relationships. 

Schedule:

  • Full-time 80 hours every 2 weeks
  • Mon-Fri Days
  • 100% remote

Pay and Benefits:

  • Starting pay begins at $83,901.13 per year and increases with experience.
  • Salary range:  $83,901.13-$135,851.69 per year
    • Salary range is based on a 1.0 FTE, reduced FTE will result in a prorated offer rate

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or a bachelor's degree plus two years of relevant experience for each year of required master's-level education (four years in total).
  • 3 or more years of data and analytics experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: 
    •    Healthcare (within the healthcare industry, direct patient care, health insurance, internship or healthcare data related) 
    •    Business operations experience in two or more of the following: clinical, HR/workforce, coding, revenue cycle/finance, supply chain, staffing, or quality measures.
  • Advanced Analytics expertise including: 
    •    Statistics (central tendency, variability, sampling, correlation, hypothesis testing, regression, confidence intervals, etc.)
    •    Root Cause Analysis
    •    Quantitative Analysis
    •    Qualitative Analysis
  • Technical software experience: 
    •    SQL: write basic queries and interpret complex queries written by others. 
    •    Power BI (strongly preferred): experience connecting data sources, creating data models, interpreting source lineage, building reports and dashboards, and educating end-users with navigation and decision support. 
    •    Alternate BI Visualization Tools (acceptable in lieu of Power BI): Tableau, Qlik, Elastic, Microstrategy, Cognos, SAP Business Objects, Python, or others.
    •    Excel: sort, filter, cleanse, apply functions, pivot data, connect to live sources.
    •    Agile Development software: estimating tasks, prioritizing assignments, maintaining progress documentation and written communication with end-users (ex: ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps, Asana, Kanban, etc.).  [RD1.1]
  • Agile Project Management experience with large data or software projects. 
  • Responds well to and enjoys change; works well under pressure

  • Lead enterprise-wide reporting and analytics initiatives which transform business processes and generate impactful insights while supporting strategic decision-making.
  • Draw upon healthcare knowledge, trends, and experiences to systematically dissect business challenges, identify root cause, organize and clearly communicate outcomes of potential options, and guide business partners towards informed action.
  • Effectively engage within an Agile team to ensure strategic requests are prioritized, meaningful results are achieved, redundant builds are avoided, feedback is reconciled, and troubleshooting issues is a team sport.
  • Meet directly with end-users to conduct requirements gathering, data architecture, design and validation meetings; ensuring business needs are met, confidence is high, and insights are clearly understood.
  • Evangelize best practices within the department and amongst requestors by understanding, articulating, and consistently applying standards around source prioritization, data asset re-use, architectural integrity, and the minimization of technical debt. 
  • Champion innovation to build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, delivering intuitive, actionable visualizations that exceed business expectations, tell a compelling business story, and ensure compliance with standards, policies and performance guidelines.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation using SQL Server and Power BI to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the data lifecycle, tracing data pipelines, identifying root causes, implementing scalable solutions, and assessing broader impacts.
  • Document technical processes, data models, and report specifications to support maintainability and knowledge sharing across the team.
  • Maintain fluency in the current tech stack: 
    •    SQL for profiling, querying, exploration and data transformation.
    •    Power BI for visualization, modeling, and advanced analytics (DAX, M-code, and semantic models).
    •    Ancillary tools: ServiceNow, SharePoint Forms/Lists, Power Automate, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.
    •    Source systems: Epic, Oracle, UKG, and others.
  • Help inform and contribute to data governance, metadata population, data literacy, internal communications, and other parallel initiatives which elevate and promote analytics within the organization.
  • Adapt and embrace changing tools, technology, best practices, and organizational needs.  
  • Demonstrate and promote CentraCare’s core culture values—such as assuming positive intent, respect, integrity, collaboration, and patient-centered care—through daily interactions, decision-making, and teamwork to support a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain strict data confidentiality and security in accordance with PII, PHI, PCI laws and organizational policies.
