About the role
We are looking for a Domain Expert Recruiter to strengthen our university outreach efforts in Malaysia and across APAC. This role is focused on building and maintaining long-term collaborations with universities, research groups, and academic networks to engage Master’s and PhD students with strong domain expertise for AI projects.
This is not a traditional recruitment role. Success in this position depends on creativity, relationship-building, and proactive outreach rather than standard hiring pipelines.
What you will do
· Build and manage long-lasting relationships with universities, faculties, labs, and student organizations in Malaysia and across APAC.
· Develop outreach strategies to engage Master’s and PhD students with strong domain expertise (e.g. STEM, humanities, social sciences, or other specialized fields)
· Act as a point of contact between our team and academic partners
· Design and adapt communication materials for different academic audiences
· Identify new universities, programs, and research communities relevant to our AI projects
· Track outreach effectiveness and continuously refine engagement approaches
What we are looking for
Must-have
· Experience in university outreach and academic partnerships
· Background in recruitment
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Proven ability to build relationships and maintain long-term collaborations
· Creative mindset with the ability to tailor messages for different academic audiences
· High level of ownership and independence in managing outreach initiatives
· Fluent English; additional Asian languages are a strong plus
Nice-to-have
· Experience working with Master’s or PhD student populations
· Familiarity with academic structures, faculties, and research environments
· Experience in supporting AI-related projects
