Role Overview

As a Water Network Engineer, you’ll work within our Water Project Management team to analyse and resolve complex water network issues. You’ll use hydraulic modelling and GIS, develop pressure and flow management schemes, and create risk-mitigation plans.




Key Responsibilities

  • Propose and support flow/pressure management schemes with cost-benefit analysis.
  • Analyse data from metering software, logged networks, and other sources. 
  • Use GIS for network mapping, tracing mains, and supporting DMA/PMA planning. 
  • Identify network anomalies and design asset management solutions.
  • Build risk mitigation plans and method statements. 
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams. 
  • Plan and schedule project resources to meet deadlines. 
  • Track project progress, hours, and deliver client-ready reports. 
  • Support on-field delivery (e.g., probe work, isolations) and HSEQ compliance. 
  • Participate in the Health & Safety committee; line manage where required.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 5 + years’ experience in water engineering, utilities, or a related technical roles.
  • Degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a relevant discipline. (Beneficial).
  • Knowledge of trunk mains / distribution network principles. 
  • Experience with hydraulic modelling software. 
  • Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office. 
  • Ideally, understanding of district meter area (DMA) design.
