What's this role all about?

This is a temporary benefited role, expected to run through 12/31/2026, with the possibility of extension.

As a Temporary Disaster Surge Coordinator at Cedars-Sinai, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our emergency management and disaster response programs are flawless. This role is exceptionally outstanding as it allows you to collaborate with world-class professionals and compete with the best in the industry. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, developing, and carrying out emergency management/disaster response programs (e.g., mass decontamination, mass casualty).
  • Coordinating and liaising with community, city, county, state, and federal agencies involved in disaster response (e.g., FEMA, Red Cross, local Police, Fire, and EMS departments).
  • Crafting, implementing, and presenting programs for management and staff.
  • Coordinating efforts for Department of Health Services and The Joint Commission accreditation as it relates to emergency management planning.

You will be working under the general supervision of the Medical Center Safety Office, Executive Director of Environmental Health and Safety, and the Director of Emergency Management. This cooperative setting will enable you to effectively apply established approaches and contribute meaningfully to community health and safety.
