This distinctive position is perfect for recent graduates or professionals with 1-3 years of experience in business analytics, finance, or construction-related fields. It combines select responsibilities of an Assistant Project Manager with a strong emphasis on financial ownership, cost control, and accurate reporting while giving you meaningful exposure to the boots-on-the-ground mechanics of executing mega scale endeavors.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with Project Teams and Finance Team on monthly project financials: cost tracking, variance analysis, forecasting, and accurate month-end close processes.
Maintain robust, real-time cost tracking systems and deliver reliable data that informs critical project decisions.
Drive precise, timely project reporting to leadership and internal stakeholders.
Perform workforce and labor analytics to optimize crew productivity, staffing plans, and labor cost control.
Support purchasing, procurement, subcontract management, and material buyout processes.
Contribute to planning, scheduling projections, and budgeting for multi-million-dollar scopes.
Act as a liaison between field/project teams and corporate finance/accounting, translating on-the-ground realities into financial outcomes.
Gain hands-on exposure to construction accounting principles, job-costing methods, percentage-of-completion reporting, and quarterly financial reporting practices.
Develop a deep understanding of the field-generated data points (productivity metrics, material usage, labor hours, change orders, etc.) that ultimately drive project success and profitability.
Performs other duties as needed to support projects, operations, and the department.
QualificationsQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Analytics, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
0–3 years of relevant experience (internships and co-ops count); strong analytical aptitude required.
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and leadership potential.
Prior experience in electrical a plus.
Strong Computer skills.
Skills & Abilities
Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, data modeling).
Clear communicator who can bridge field and office perspectives.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and energized by a dynamic construction environment
Demonstrated safety leader and true believer in safety.
Current and valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This job may work inside or outside with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and weather elements in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces. This job may have exposure to working on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other exposures typical of heavy construction. This job also operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing reaching, bending crawling, standing, or stretching.
The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Move about on the feet regularly. Sit for extended periods of time.
Requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.
May require travel.
Exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and by telephone.
Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision to discern color coded wires, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest), as needed.
Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed. Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite.
Must be able to work in the presence of customers and their representatives with little or no interference or disruption to the customer while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
