We're seeking a talented Design Professional I to join our collaborative design team. In this role, you'll work alongside Project Architects and multidisciplinary teams to produce innovative design and construction documents while developing your skills in all phases of the architectural process. This position offers excellent exposure to project management, client relations, and technical leadership in a supportive, team-oriented environment.


What You'll Do


Design & Conceptualization

  • Participate in design sessions and contribute to architectural concepts
  • Translate ideas into design solutions using sketches, diagrams, 3D models, and renderings
  • Develop plans, elevations, sections, and details
  • Research materials, systems, and technologies
  • Support space planning, programming, and material selection
  • Prepare client and internal presentation materials

Technical Production

  • Produce accurate drawings using Revit/CAD aligned with firm standards
  • Coordinate architectural documents with consultant engineers and specialists
  • Perform code research to ensure compliance
  • Incorporate revisions and redlines from senior staff
  • Assist with schedules, specifications, and project documentation

Client Relations & Project Management

  • Meet with clients and end users to align designs with their requirements
  • Track budgets and schedules to support timely and profitable project outcomes
  • Gain exposure to project management practices through client and contractor meetings

Quality Control & Construction Administration

  • Review and redline drawings for quality assurance
  • Conduct site visits to ensure proper design implementation

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Mentor interns and junior staff members
  • Share knowledge and participate in cross-training initiatives
  • Work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a team-first approach
  • Contribute to a positive, supportive team culture

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in architecture or interior design from an accredited university

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive architectural experience with demonstrated ability to lead technical aspects of complex projects and increasing BIM project responsibility

Licensure: 

  • Established and maintained NCARB Record
Technical Skills: 
  • Basic to intermediate REVIT proficiency
  • Proficiency in design software including Photoshop, LUMION, SketchUp, and presentation tools

Core Competencies: 

  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities
  • Creative and critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired Qualifications

  • 3-7 years of industry-specific experience
  • IIDA or ASID certification
  • LEED AP, Green Associate, or similar sustainability credentials
  • EDAC (Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification)
  • Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Understanding of resource management and project budgeting
  • Client management experience

Physical Requirements

This position involves primarily office-based work with occasional site visits. Physical demands include:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and computer workstation
  • Standing, walking, and occasionally bending/reaching
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Local travel to project sites and client meetings
