This is a 18-month contract position.
Your role
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for providing operational finance support to several business functions such as Business & Rights, Transformation Office, Equity & Inclusion and others. This position will be responsible for handling all financial aspects (contracting, cost tracking, budgeting, analysis, and reporting) for all related groups.
Key Tasks
Prepare both standard and non-standard freelance contracts and renewals in Livelink in accordance with the various collective agreements (including CMG, unaffiliated, WGC, ACTRA, CFM).
Prepare, coordinate, track, and reconcile expenditures.
Provide support and guidance with purchasing, e-plaza ordering, and employee reimbursements.
Prepare and track budgets/cost estimates for special projects and programming initiatives.
Prepare and process invoices for all support areas.
Prepare ad-hoc labour and monthly financial reports for review by Senior Manager.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Assist with CRTC annual return process.
Support with pre and post implementation of the new ERP system.
Supports the efficient and effective financial services of the department (e.g. explains finance policies, locates supporting documentation for charges, access requested information in SAP, and advises management on the financial impact of all decisions).
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
Accounting Degree and/or relevant experience is required.
At least 3 years of progressively responsible related experience.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Excellent problem-solving skills and decision-making capabilities.
Ability to set priorities and balance competing business needs within budgetary restrictions and reporting deadlines.
Business partnering approach. An open and direct communication style, good listening skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working in a diverse and inclusive environment.
