This role is a hybrid work arrangement. Work schedule to be discussed with the hiring Manager according to the guidelines defined by the department.

This is a 18 month contract.

Description

CBC’s Finance team is seeking an Advisor to support English Services on a contract for 18 months. You will be directly involved with the FP&A, internal and external financial reporting and CRTC reporting.

Key Tasks:

  • Responsible for month end, quarterly and year end functions related to actuals, budgets and forecasts to provide accurate and timely financial information.

  • Prepare monthly financial forecasts, cash forecasts and identify existing potential risks and recommend alternatives and solutions.

  • Prepare quarterly supplementary financial accounting reports as per quarter closing processes.

Lead the network CRTC reporting annually and in times of license renewals by:

  • Ensuring financial data integrity of CRTC reports (including TM1).

  • Manage the preparation of financial analysis as requested.

  • Assist with annual business plan process.

Support areas with pre/post implementation of new ERP:

  • Assist in building new reports and structures.

  • Supports the efficient and effective financial services of the department (e.g. explains finance policies, locates supporting documentation for charges, access requested information in SAP, and advises management on the financial impact of all decisions).

Requirements

  • Position requires a university degree in Business or a related field, a professional accounting designation and at least 5 years of related experience.

  • Knowledge of budgeting, financial and contract management.

  • Superior Excel skills and experience working with SAP/BW, Oracle and Workday.

  • Position requires creativity in presenting complex financial information and analysis in such a way as to be useful and clear to departmental management.

  • A change agent who embraces transformation and proactively seeks ways to improve existing processes.

  • Tact and diplomacy is an important part of this position.

  • Good writing skills are also essential to express in clear, concise language sometimes complex financial information.

  • This position is required to handle multiple priorities and respond to several urgent demands in a short space of time.

  • Must have a very high degree of judgement, initiative and integrity.
