Role Summary

The Dietitian performs comprehensive nutritional assessments and collaborates with the interdisciplinary medical team to prescribe, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Serve as a department representative as part of the hospital clinical care team
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal safety and sanitation regulations
• Develop and implement menus that align with clinical and nutritional standards
• Educate patients on prescribed diets and nutritional supplements related to diagnoses
• Provide recommendations for enteral and parenteral nutrition support
• Assess patients for malnutrition and develop appropriate nutrition interventions and care plans
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in food service management software
• Provide inpatient nutritional counseling
• Demonstrate flexibility by assuming additional appropriate responsibilities as needed

Required Skills and Experience

• Current licensure as a Registered Dietitian
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Master's degree
• One (1) year of experience in an acute care setting

Preferred skills are not required to be considered for this role.

Physical Requirements

• This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including:
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including production areas and walk-in coolers/freezers

Location, Travel and Shift Requirements

• Onsite- Rotating to cover both locations as needed:
  • Cayuga Medical Center: 101 Dates Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850
  • Schuyler Hospital: 220 Steuben Street, Montour Falls, NY 14865
• Shift: Flex schedule, days, evenings and possible weekends.
• 50% Travel expected for this role between locations noted above as needed

Pay Range Disclosure

Standard rate of $33.66 - $43.24 per hour
