About this role

Overview

The Surgical Coordinator performs administrative duties relevant to surgical operations which includes the scheduling of surgery and coordination of surgery with physicians, patients, hospitals, radiology, reps for surgical equipment, primary care and specialists.


Job Details

Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or GED. 
  • 3 years of physician office scheduling experience Required 
  • Experience in a Orthopedic Office Preferred.

Responsibilities:  

  • Manages tasks related to booking hospital procedures and obtaining surgical authorizations
  • Demonstrate pleasant phone voice and communication
  • Demonstrate ability to work in detailed oriented environment
  • Duties related to patient care in a team-based care and integrative health environment. 
  • Competency in all skills related to the performance of providing exceptional patient care.
  • Front office duties: greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling patients and verifying insurances. 
  • Demonstrates knowledge of insurance issues effecting patient care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of securing prior authorizations and authorization for procedures
  • Ensure necessary medical record information is present for procedure including medical clearance if needed
  • Work collaboratively with hospital personnel to ensure procedures are booked providing seamless process for patients 
  • Be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manages/Assists with projects associated with the practice 
  • Orders and Manages inventory for the Department.


Salary Range

USD $25.20 - USD $36.50 /Hr.



This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and position location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
