Job Details

Our Nursing Supervisors:

  • Considers employee’s commitment to ensuring a safe, healthy and mutually respectful work environment that is supportive and civil, one of effective teamwork and collaboration, and of honesty and mutual respect.
  • Adjusts staffing by assessing patients’ needs.
  • Assigns or re-assigns staff based on competencies.
  • Supports the NM’s in unit management and in development of leadership skills.
  • Investigates, completes, communicates actions of required reports”
  • Intervenes in administrative problems as they arise.
  • Enhances patient satisfaction by investigating patient/family concerns, taking action as needed, follows through to assure that corrections are initiated as needed and preparing reports as appropriate in a timely manner.
  • Confers with Administrator on Call (AOC), Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Directors and/or Nurse Managers in events requiring additional guidance.
  • Responds to emergency calls: fires, all codes, disaster drills and trauma alert.
  • Provides leadership and directions in accordance with department goals and policies.
  • Enforces patient rights by assuring patient access to Advanced Directive and Health Care Proxy (HCP) information.
  • Assists in developing system to streamline processes, minimize resource utilization and maximize efficiency.
  • Supervisor is readily available to those with questions, ideas, and or concerns.
  • Communicates and coordinates with nursing units and patient placement coordinator to expedite Emergency Department (ED), PACU admissions and in-house transfers.
  • Seeks solutions to problems identified.
  • Considers financial impact when making decisions.
  • Ensures Purposeful rounding is completed and communicates any concerns with charge nurse/ANM.
  • Completes Death Report Sheet/ME cases/LONY/Death in restraints form
  • Participates as needed in Terminal Wean Process and completes Administrative note in patient record
  • Other tasks as assigned

What you'll bring:

  • Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required, Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Licensure: New York Registered Nurse (RN) License & Registration
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
  • Nursing Supervisors’ demonstrate leadership ability including knowledge of computer skills, outlook, word, problem solving, team building techniques, effective communication skills, organizational and time management.
  • Knowledge of department policies, standards and age competencies.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements: State Education Department, DOH, Infection Control, OSHA


Salary Range

USD $69.30 - USD $83.33 /Hr.



This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
