Job Summary
The Internal Control Specialist conducts unannounced observations and documentation reviews across PROS, Pre-Vocational, and Supported Employment programs to ensure regulatory compliance and quality of care. This role serves as the NYESS System Security Officer and Master Trainer, provides staff training and technical support, and promotes agency standards and mission.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures across multiple programs
Review clinical and program documentation (paper and electronic/Precision Care)
Provide staff training on NYESS, NYSCRI forms, and related systems
Serve as NYESS Security Officer: manage user access, troubleshoot issues, and report system breaches
Assist with internal audits, corrective action plans, and utilization review
Support program leadership, attend meetings, and participate in interdisciplinary teams
Ensure timely incident reporting and compliance with HIPAA and agency policies
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or BA/BS in Human Services with 3+ years of oversight experience
Knowledge of regulatory compliance in human services or behavioral health settings
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Computer proficient; able to learn new systems
Valid NYS driver’s license and ability to travel between sites
This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
