What this looks like:

1st Shift Starting Pay: $27.20/hour

1st Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri 6 AM - 2 PM

2nd Shift Starting Pay: $29.38/hour (includes 8% Shift Premium)

2nd Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri 2 PM - 10 PM

3rd Shift Starting Pay: $29.38/hour (includes 8% Shift Premium)

3rd Shift Schedule: Mon-Fri 10 PM - 6 AM

Overtime as business needs require

As a Robot Technician at Caterpillar, you will:

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the Automated Sort and Retrieval System (ASRS) systems, including mechanical, electrical, and programming problems and work with manufacturers to resolve these issues.

  • Repairs: Work with the maintenance team to conduct repairs on ASRS shuttles as needed, including replacing parts and components.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.

  • Personal Training: Ongoing operating system training to stay aligned with new features, enhancements, and best practices.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with LEs and Production staff to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

  • Training: Provide basic operation/troubleshoot training to line technicians, Planners and LEs.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.


Basic Requirements:

  • Intermediate proficiency computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.

  • Communication: Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts.

  • Detail-Oriented: Meticulous attention to detail when performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.

  • Must be able to function as part of a team, willing to be multi-trained, and maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.


Top Candidates will also have:

  • Technical Skills: Strong technical aptitude with a focus on robotics, automation, and mechatronics.

  • 1 year of PLC programming.

  • Experience with Dematic software and hardware.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Summary Pay Range:

$27.20 - $33.95

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
