
Job DetailsJob Location: Rock Hill, SC 29730Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $16.50 HourlyThe Youth Development Professional is responsible for planning and conducting activities which provide developmental experiences for children such as Education/Academic Enhancement, Social Recreation, Arts & Craft, Healthy Lifestyles, Leadership, Outdoor/Environmental Awareness, and Physical Education depending on age. They are responsible for the health, safety, and personal welfare of assigned children. They report to the Site Manager of the facility they are assigned. This position supports the CIN Mission, Vision, and Goals by being an important part of a team that gives tribal children continued care in a healthy safe environment.
This position is responsible to and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.
Essential Functions —
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes
Ability to familiarize yourself with Boys & Girls Club of America’s philosophy
Promote and stimulate program participation
Provide guidance and role modeling to members
Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for members and visitors
Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the Club at all times
Ensure a productive and safe Club environment by participating in Club staff meetings
Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel
Help implement a full schedule of activities as created by Site Manager
Attend to children’s basic needs of children in each age category
Assist in maintaining order with children overseeing
Promote physical, mental, and social development
Observe children's interactions to maintain safety
Provide guidance and role modeling to children
Prepare materials to be used for projects and activities
Assist in the tracking of children throughout their day at the center
Assimilate arriving children to the environment by greeting them
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Performs other duties as assigned

QualificationsExperience & Education
High School diploma or GED
Experience working with youth
Will be required to drive Club vehicles: obtain CDL, DOT and Serve Safe Certification
Licenses & Certifications
Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications
Possess a valid, clean state Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems
Ability to deal with the general public
Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth
Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment
Desirable Qualifications, Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Previous experience in implementing a youth program
Previous experience working in a team
Ability to maintain effective, professional, and courteous working relationships and demeanor with other employees and the public at all times
