Location: Swindon, UK 

Position summary; Monday – Friday 37.5 per week, minimum for 4 days onsite per week. 

 

Catalent is seeking a Contracts Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and negotiating commercial agreements that drive long-term value for our GMP-regulated pharmaceutical operations. This position is ideal for a senior professional with strong experience in contract negotiation, commercial management, and customer engagement within highly regulated industries. 

The Role: 

  • Act as a lead negotiator in collaboration with Business Development, Legal, and the Sr. Contract Director, preparing and negotiating contract amendments, renewals, and extensions of supply agreements. 
  • Drive the renewal and extension process for existing commercial supply contracts, ensuring terms remain competitive, compliant, and aligned with business objectives. 
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to contractual obligations, including forecasting, purchase orders, payments, minimum quantities, royalties, milestone fees, and other key terms. 
  • Partner with Business Development, Supply Chain, and Project Management to establish project governance and ensure seamless communication between customers and Catalent’s operations teams. 
  • Provide strategic input into proposal preparation and pricing for new business opportunities and follow-on work with existing customers. 
  • Support negotiation strategies for proposals and customer engagements, ensuring risk mitigation and value creation. 
  • Collaborate with Site Operations and Finance to evaluate cost vs. price models, identifying opportunities for improvement and margin optimization. 
  • Represent Site Operations during customer onboarding, ensuring business interests are protected and contractual frameworks are established early. 
  • Host client meetings and maintain strong senior-level relationships to foster trust and long-term collaboration. 

 

The Candidate: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline or equivalent technical knowledge. 
  • Experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or food manufacturing, with exposure to GMP environments. 
  • Demonstrated success in contract negotiation and commercial management within regulated industries. 
  • Strong knowledge of drug product development, scale-up, manufacturing, quality, validation, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Excellent analytical, financial, and business acumen with superior communication and customer service skills. 
  • Professional demeanor and proven ability to influence senior stakeholders
