Position Summary

  • 100% on-site in Greenville, NC

  • Work Schedule: 2nd shift

Catalent’s Greenville, N.C. facility specializes in end-to-end turn-key solutions for oral solid dosage forms, including integrated formulation development, analytical services, commercial manufacturing, and packaging. This state-of-the-art facility has had over $100M of investments in recent years and features fit-for-scale capacity with potent handling capabilities, ideal for orphan or targeted drug development.

With minimal to no supervision, the Manufacturing Equipment Specialist II is to assist commercial operations staff in the maintenance and operation of manufacturing equipment. 

The Role

  • Equivalent experience as Manufacturing Equipment Specialist I 

  • Demonstrates the ability to work with minimum to no supervision. 

  • Provides intermediate level of knowledge related to maintaining pharmaceutical manufacturing. 

  • Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic functions utilizing equipment manuals and support drawings related to manufacturing equipment.  

  • Assist with training Manufacturing Equipment Specialist I. 

  • Performs equipment preventive maintenance and calibration procedures. 

  • Compile and maintain all information and document relevant to all work under FDA guidelines. 

  • Coordinate repairs/installations with facilities staff, contractors and users to minimize interruptions. 

  • Work as part of a team with manufacturing staff, users and vendors to continuously improve operations. 

  • Ability to work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications  

  • Other duties assigned.

The Candidate

  • Associate degree in technical or life sciences discipline with at least 5 years of mechanical experience or High school diploma or equivalent with at least 7 years of mechanical experience required

  • At least 2 years Manufacturing Equipment experience 

  • Good understanding of cGMPs, industry and regulatory standards and guidelines      

  • Good understanding of federal and local regulations regarding health and safety within manufacturing and packaging environments 

  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs unassisted 

  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations 

  • Requires bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, climbing 

  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Some exposure to hazardous chemical and other active chemical ingredients 

  • This position requires that a respirator be worn for your safety, and as such, employment is contingent upon being able to complete a medical evaluation with satisfactory results. The medical evaluation is conducted via an external vendor assigned by Catalent.
