Working Hours: Full time, permanent position
Remote, travelling 50 to 60%

Reporting to the Regional Sales Director, Europe, this role is responsible for driving business development within the clinical supply services sector within the Italian territory.

The successful candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities while managing and strengthening relationships with both existing and prospective clients. Annual goals will be set collaboratively, focused on generating growth across Catalent’s full range of service offerings. This role is critical to Catalent’s continued expansion in Europe and will play a key part in enhancing our presence and reputation in the marketplace.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve annual sales target.
  • Overall responsibility to manage the business development activities for a given target territory
  • Responsible for building and continued increase in the opportunity pipeline;
  • Develop and execute on territory sales plan with the objective to achieve annual sales targets through closing of new deals.
  • Identify, open, lead and close business development deals with new and existing clients; promoting company visibility, growth and profitability.
  • Implement strategies aimed toward increasing revenue and market share in the target region.
  • Prepare weekly reports detailing meetings held and phone calls made.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing activity with current and perspective customers.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current and perspective customers.
  • Prepare annual sales plan.
  • Participate in tradeshows, exhibits and professional organizations.
  • Organize and participate in customer and potential customer visits.
  • Maintain and acceptable level of knowledge of Catalent’s service offering, industry technology and trends, and customer and competitor capabilities.
  • Manage personal expenses to meet budgeted allowances.
  • Assist Operations and Project Management with understanding customer needs and requirements to determine feasibility of performing projects.
  • Assist Operations and Project Management with understanding project requirements so that an accurate and timely quotation can be prepared.
  • Negotiation of quotations, CDAs and MSAs.
  • Probe for “cross sell” opportunities and forward lead to appropriate sales counterpart for follow-up.

Your profile:

  • BS/BA in Business or Life Sciences preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in contract pharmaceutical business with at least 2 years in clinical services
  • Fluent in Italian and English
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a competitive sales environment by identifying and engaging new customers, opening doors at strategic accounts, and consistently achieving or exceeding performance targets.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build long-term relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Must demonstrate proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to travel frequently (up to 50%).
