Cassia is hiring a Director of Facilities Management to join our team in Edina, MN! We are looking for an experienced facility or asset management leader looking to make a meaningful impact across senior living communities!

As a Director of Facilities Management, your primary focus is safeguarding the condition, reliability, and long-term value of Cassia’s property portfolio, including Managed Properties, Senior Housing, and Skilled Nursing communities. This position provides portfolio-level leadership for preventive maintenance, inspections, work orders, apartment turns, and capital planning. You will mentor and support on-site maintenance teams while partnering closely with construction, procurement, safety, quality, and operations to ensure safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environments for residents and staff.

Based out of Cassia’s Edina Home Office, this role includes regular travel to senior living communities in MN, ND, IA, CO and FL, and you will be a critical part in supporting Cassia’s mission of fostering fullness of life for older adults.

Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position based in Edina, Minnesota. Must be willing to travel a minimum of 60% of the time based on needs.

Wage Range: $110,000 - $125,000 Annually depending on experience

Director of Facilities Management Responsibilities

  • Preventive Maintenance & Inspections
    Establish and govern preventive maintenance programs across building systems using the CMMS. Conduct structured inspections, identify deficiencies, prioritize corrective actions, and verify quality closeout with documentation.
  • Work Orders & After-Hours Escalation Support
    Monitor work-order performance, backlog, and response times. Provide escalation support for urgent building or resident-impacting issues and assist communities lacking maintenance coverage.
  • Apartment Turns & Standards
    Oversee apartment turns to meet SOP timelines and quality standards. Enforce standardized finishes, materials, and durability criteria to control costs and extend asset life.
  • Capital Planning & Lifecycle Management
    Develop and maintain 1–5 year capital plans with lifecycle analysis, remaining useful life, and replacement cost estimates. Partner with senior leadership to align timing, scope, and investment strategy.
  • CMMS Leadership & Reporting
    Serve as CMMS subject matter expert, overseeing system configuration, asset records, inspections, reporting, and mobile adoption. Use data and trends to drive maintenance performance and capital decisions.
  • Training, Standards & Team Development
    Develop portfolio maintenance standards and SOPs. Assess site-level competencies, provide targeted training, and mentor maintenance leaders to improve consistency and performance.
  • Seasonal Readiness & Exterior Oversight
    Lead seasonal preparedness and resilience efforts. Provide oversight of grounds, exterior systems, and vendor performance to support safety, appearance, and brand standards.
  • Governance & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    Share monthly metrics with operational leaders, participate in capital and readiness reviews, and collaborate with construction, procurement, safety, and quality teams to align priorities and resolve risks.

Director of Facilities Management Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in facilities management, asset management, maintenance leadership, or a related field
  • Experience overseeing multi-site or portfolio-level maintenance operations strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance programs, inspections, capital planning, and lifecycle analysis
  • Experience in healthcare, senior housing, skilled nursing, or other regulated environments preferred
  • Proven ability to partner with construction, procurement, safety, quality, and operations teams
  • Ability to travel to Cassia communities as needed
