In this role, you’ll lead corrective action projects and manage environmentally impacted sites to protect health, safety, and the environment. The Environmental Remediation Manager develops risk-based strategies, mitigates liability, controls remediation costs and ensures regulatory compliance. This role provides environmental support for construction and property acquisitions, advises on emergencies, and works with regulatory officials to achieve timely site closures aligned with business needs.

This role participates in an on-call rotation to handle emergencies, requiring 24/7 availability for seven consecutive days in addition to the regular work schedule. While this role is primarily performed in an office setting, occasional travel may be required based on site-specific needs (approximately 5-10%).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees all phases of corrective action projects, including planning and implementation ensuring alignment with site-specific conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluates and manages environmentally impacted sites to protect health, safety and the environment while ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local regulations.
  • Develops risk-based project strategies, mitigates liability through corrective action plans, and controls remediation costs while maximizing potential reimbursements.
  • Provides environmental guidance and support to internal and external partners during construction projects, including new facility builds, underground storage tank (UST) removals and installations, site rebuilds, modernization, upgrades and system repairs
  • Conducts Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) & asbestos surveys for existing properties and potential acquisitions as requested by management.
  • Advises and responds to emergency situations, product releases, or environmental incidents, providing expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintains electronic tracking systems for project progress, expenses and objectives; delivers timely status reports to management.
  • Represents environmental expertise at meetings and high-level conferences, presenting data and insights as needed.

Compensation: 

Starting pay range:‏‏‎ $86,600‏‏‎ -‏‏‎ $113,600.‏‏‎ Actual pay may vary based on Caseys assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Earth Science related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least seven years of job-related experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Federal, State and local environmental regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage regulatory agencies, internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to research complex environmental issues and resolve problems efficiently using sound judgment and risk-based decision-making.
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships based on transparency and mutual respect while influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; capability of managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Ability to oversee and evaluate consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and project objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to maintain electronic tracking systems for project progress and reporting.
  • At least two years of Underground Storage Tanks (UST) related experience in environmental consulting or engineering is preferred.
