About this role
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience to join our team and act as a force multiplier. You will be a holistic technical leader, bridging the gap between code, people, and business outcomes, and mentoring more junior engineers to drive engineering excellence. This is a key role where you will have a significant impact on our product, organization, and culture as we scale.
What you will do:
Lead architectural decisions and drive the development of complex initiatives, balancing long-term stability with the high velocity required in a startup environment.
Spend approximately 70% of your time hands-on coding and 30% on mentorship and technical leadership for one of our three core product teams (Applicant, Lender, or Platform).
Amplify the team's skills and vision by mentoring team members, helping them reach their potential, and driving engineering best practices.
Collaborate across teams and with leadership to ensure a cohesive and high-quality system, transplanting learnings across the organization.
Potentially interact directly with customers during working sessions to gather requirements and ensure our highly configurable system meets their needs.
