Hours are Monday - Thursday from 12am till 1030am***

 Job Summary: Assists technologists and Specimen Acquisition Coordinator in venipuncture and capillary blood collections on inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients. Assists when necessary with clerical work. The work is repetitive in nature and follows standard procedures with little room for deviation. The employee must exercise courtesy and tact while dealing with patients. Work is performed under general supervision following a period of rigid on-the-job training and is checked by observation and quality control procedures.

 Minimum Requirements: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent. 
  • The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care in his/her assigned department. 
  • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's/ area's/ department's policies and procedures.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
