Total Station Technician
About this role
The Total Station Technician supports the electrical construction team by providing accurate, model-based layout and verification in the field. This role ensures all electrical systems, racks, conduit, and equipment are installed precisely according to coordinated BIM models and design documents, supporting efficient prefab installation and on-time project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform electrical layout using total station equipment for conduit, hangers, sleeves, lighting, and equipment.
- Verify field conditions and provide accurate as-built data to the VDC team.
- Establish and maintain project control points and coordinate systems.
- Support prefabrication accuracy through precise field measurements.
- Perform daily instrument checks, ensuring accuracy and calibration.
- Communicate proactively with VDC, prefab, and field teams to resolve layout issues.
- Maintain records, layout logs, and deviation reports.
Qualifications:
- Experience with total station equipment (Trimble, Leica, or Topcon).
- Working knowledge of Trimble Field Link, Autodesk Point Layout, or similar software.
- Understanding of electrical construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication between field and office teams.
