About this role

The Specialist, Public Affairs–Global Destinations supports the coordination and delivery of public affairs, stakeholder engagement, community relations, and communications activities across Carnival Corporation’s global destination portfolio. While global in scope, this role specifically supports our four ports of call in The Bahamas and the Turks & Caicos Islands: Celebration Key (Grand Bahama), Princess Cays (Eleuthera), RelaxAway Half Moon Cay (Little San Salvador Island), and the Grand Turk Cruise Center.

The Specialist plays a key role in organizing project activities, maintaining timelines, tracking deliverables, and ensuring that public affairs and stakeholder engagement initiatives are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This position works closely with managers, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders to support the successful execution of projects, events, and communications that enhance relationships, strengthen community partnerships, and support compliant, responsible, and sustainable operations.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Ensure that all aspects of stakeholder engagement are organized and in conformance with timeline and deliverables requirement.
  • Assign and monitor resources effectively to boost efficiency and maximize deliverables output.
  • Manage administrative requirements and coordinate for engagements, stakeholder meetings, external and third-party vendors as necessary to achieve goals and milestones.
  • Deepen partnerships with outside resources, including third-party vendors.
  • Establishing and nurturing connections with community members, leaders, organizations, and other stakeholders.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain performance metrices that tracks overall progress and achievement of milestones.
  • Track, monitor and report on governmental legislation, changes and/or polices that may impact the organization.
  • Media monitoring and reporting of all relevant Brand, government, industry, stakeholder or community stories across all platforms.
  • Tracking progress, reporting on outcomes, and evaluating the effectiveness of engagement strategies.

Social Media & Communication

  • Manage social media strategy in compliance with policy.
  • Developing and implementing strategies to inform the community about the organization's work, programs, and events.

Community Engagement & Events

  • Organizing and managing community events, workshops, and meetings to facilitate engagement and information sharing.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of community-focused programs and initiatives.
  • Gathering information about community needs and preferences and analyzing data to improve engagement efforts.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in relevant field
  • Three or more years of experience in related field 

SKILLS & SPECIFICATIONS: 

  • Experience in coordinating teams, events and clients
  • Proven success in a corporate setting, working with all levels of management.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

Scope: The role operates within Carnival Corporation & plc, a global company with over 160,000 team members representing 150 countries. Responsibilities may extend across both shipboard and shoreside operations, impacting regional headquarters in locations such as Miami, Seattle, Santa Clarita, Southampton, Genoa, Rostock, and Sydney. The position contributes to creating safe and inclusive spaces for all team members and guests, supporting the company’s mission to inspire unforgettable happiness and maintain the integrity of every ocean and destination visited
