In our continuous journey of growth and innovation at Carnival UK, we are seeking an Environments Engineer to bring fresh insights and expertise to our Technology department. 

Role Overview 

This pivotal role will involve: 

  • Operationally supporting non-production and test environments, including building Windows Server VMs and coordinating with test managers to provision correctly configured test environments. 

  • Supporting the smooth transition of nonproduction environments as part of a wider vCenter migration programme. 

  • Performing root cause analyses for functional and performance issues in non-production environments. 

  • Fulfilling a variety of non-production environmentrelated requests from teams across the Digital & Technology Office. 

  • Helping to improve the way our environments operate through automation, optimisation and standardisation. 

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues in Infrastructure, Engineering, Architecture and Operations. 
     

This role is positioned at CUK09 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time, fixed-term basis for 12-months. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home. 

What You'll Bring 
 
Your unique background and skills are what will make you stand out. We're looking for: 

  • Strong experience with Windows Server and VMware (vSphere, vCenter). 

  • Ability to automate Windows and VMware processes (e.g., PowerShell, scripting, Red Hat Ansible). 

  • Knowledge of operating system lifecycle management, including patching and deployment automation of Windows VMs. 

  • Experience migrating workloads across vCenters. 

  • Familiarity with ITSM and change management processes and crossteam collaboration. 

  • Exposure to Kubernetes, Terraform, containerisation or infrastructureascode tools. 

  • Working knowledge of RDMS technologies such as MS SQL and Oracle and load balancing technologies such as Nginx/F5. 

  • Certifications in Microsoft or VMware technologies are beneficial. 

  • Appetite for working in automationfirst environments and finding smarter ways to deliver.
