The Packaging Shift Leader is fully accountable for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the assigned packaging line during the shift. Leads the shift team, ensures team well-being and safety, drives line performance, and owns the accuracy and integrity of operational data reported to management. The role requires strong operational knowledge, people leadership, and the ability to translate line performance indicators into actions that improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Drive continuous improvement aligned with Carlsberg Excellence standards.
  • Schedule’s production on short term basis and expert in MES management.
  • Carries out quality analysis and able to release product between areas and end-product.
  • Materials management and inventory controller.
  • Operate the line when required (breaks, replacements, emergencies).
  • Has understanding and interpretation of Statistical Process Control Charts for Quality, able to monitor and make process change recommendations based on results.
  • Manage attendance, discipline, training, and development of operators.
  • Own and be accountable for packaging line performance during the shift.
  • Leads PMS meeting - Shift handover.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all operational data reported to the Line Leader and management.
  • Lead Skill Matrix for operators (T0 – T4 & IDP), responsible for creating and maintaining skill matrix& IDP with individual team members and reviewing with every team member on quarterly basis.
  • Participates in bi-annual appraisal for the team and development plan.
  • Can replace Line leader in their absence and takes the responsibility during late and night shift.
  • Resource Management, Attendance, Discipline, Training and Developing peers – Operators.
  • Actively works to improve utilities consumptions according to targets.
  • Supervise external contractor’s utilization.
  • Responsible for managing compliance to HSE, food safety and hygiene and standards within the area.
  • Create/review/improve standards i.e., SOP and train Operators.
  • Ensures the production and packaging of safe, high quality food product by adhering to quality standards, procedures and COM compliance, report when found any abnormalities.
  • Monitoring production processes, maintaining equipment and ensuring compliance with quality control and food safety regulation.
  • Follow food safety compliance e.g FSSC, HACCP and GMP principles to prevent contamination and ensure food safety in product. 
  • Undertakes any additional duties or responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time to support the company in needs.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical/ Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years relevant working experience in supply chain industry, experience in food and beverage industry is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of daily packaging operations and end-to-end line processes.
  • Solid knowledge of line performance indicators (OEE, downtime, output, waste, stops) and their relationship to productivity.
  • Ability to understand and anticipate the impact of operational decisions on line performance.
  • Disciplined, accountable, and acts within defined responsibilities while taking ownership of outcomes.
  • Proactive in seeking information, monitoring operations, communicates changes to management, and adapting to evolving situations.
  • Passionate, service oriented, committed to achieving CTS and operational targets.
  • Flexible and resilient, able to manage shifting priorities while ensuring operational continuity.
