Role overview
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support Chemical Lab & Sensory in Quality Department. This role provides hands-on experience in laboratory testing, sample preparation, sensory evaluation, and data documentation.
Responsibilities:
Chemical Laboratory Support
- Assist in preparing chemical reagents, solutions, and samples for analysis.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, pH meter and ovens (training provided).
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the lab, following proper chemical handling and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Assist in 5S activities in lab and lab retention room (assist in sample labelling, coding, and traceability tasks).
Sensory Evaluation Support
- Assist in organizing sensory sessions and preparing product samples.
- Help collect and compile sensory data for reporting.
- Ensure sensory room compliance with hygiene and testing protocols.
Documentation and Reporting
- Support documentation for new product development and trials.
- Maintain inventory of lab consumables, chemicals, and sensory materials.
Requirements:
- Minimum Degree in Food Technology/Food Science/Science or any other similar qualification
- Minimum CGPA 3.0 or Second Class Upper or equivalent.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Able to commit for at least 3 months.
- Proven leadership skills in extra-curricular activities.
- Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative and systematic with sound analytical skills.
- High work capacity, self-driven and a team-player.
- Proactive, action-oriented, persistent and resilient.
- Passion in the beer industry.
- Intake period Feb/Mar.
