About this role

  1. Primary Function:

The Team Leader role will be responsible for supervising a designated team. The Team Leader will ensure all materials and supplies are available, employee deployment goals are attained, all team documentation methods are accessible and accurately utilized, printing of labels occurs in a timely manner, quality of the team's work is tested, approved, and maintained, and PPE and safety guidelines are available and met.

  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Materials/Supplies: Ensure team/individuals have all materials, supplies, tools, and work order to do job efficiently and safely. Boxes, labels, documents to complete the work order.
  • Ensure proper PPE is available and in use
  • Provide proper tools to team members, i.e. Gloves, trimming tools, torches, secondary processing equipment, raw materials
  • Ensure all proper materials are available and ready for use at the work station in order to complete the current and upcoming work orders i.e. boxes, packaging materials, foam inserts, warrantee cards, insert pads
  • Employee Deployment: Working efficiently, management of breaks/lunches rotation
  • Perform job safely and efficiently
  • Manage employee break and lunch rotations by determining which employee is next in the rotation
  • Documentation: Work order, scraps tickets, regrind documentation, over/under shortage tags
  • Ensure all production related paperwork is completed neatly and accurately including work order history, scrap tickets, regrind documentation, excess production sheets, shortages, etc.
  • Maintain highest level of accuracy on current work order production count and ensure shift to shift accuracy and handoff
  • Ensure immediate reporting of any potential shortage, i.e. materials, cut the work order short
  • Ensure all scrap is accurately entered into EPIC or similar
  • Updating current machine status in EPIC or similar
  • Order and schedule attainment
  • Ownership and management of the daily scheduling board (hour by hour)
  • ensures continuous ownership and updating of each machine and work order
  • Ensure all work order characteristics (color, resin, inserts, description) are accurate and complete on the board
  • Report and monitor performance schedule attainment based on daily schedule board
  • Ensure MATTEC is up to date reflecting the current and upcoming orders in the schedule and verify all information within MATTEC is correct with the current order
  • Do not exceed production requirements unless authorized
  • Printing/scanning labels Print all labels via label maker Print and manage work orders
  • Scanning production at the end of a run, with the completion of an order, or end of a shift to ensure all pocr's (WIP Production), forms
  • Communication skills with process techs and maintenance: other cells, supervisor, schedulers, handoffs
  • Communicate any and all issues critical issues (technician, scheduling, safety, materials
  • Ensure and lead effective handoffs of each machine during each handoff
  • Develop strong relationships with all team leads across shifts

5S, COS

  • Ensure all 5S, housekeeping, and cleanup is completed at the end of order and end of shift

Quality

 Review and approve completed 1st article inspections (form fit function, see previous job description)

  • Ensure operators are following proper COS procedures

 

  • Education and Experience requirements:
  • 1 plus years of equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3 years minimum production experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must currently hold an Op III position

  • Demonstrated work ethic and proven track record
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • This position conducts their work in a manufacturing environment with limited exposure to the outdoors; there is exposure to loud machinery, odors, and dust in addition to the special hazards of mechanical and electrical. Business is cyclical and will require flexibility in shift hours and days of the week worked. Some overtime may be required during high sales volumes
