The PTA is a skilled technical worker who performs Physical Therapy treatment on patients of all ages, as supervised by a Licensed Physical Therapist.
Qualifications

Certifications: Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR); Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)American Heart Association (AHA), Education: Associate's Degree: Physical Therapy Assistant (Required), Work Experience:
Responsibilities

Follows established procedures in the application of physical modalities such as hot packs, ultrasound, ice packs, massage, electrical muscle stimulation, and traction. Trains patients in ambulation and/or corrective exercise, including the use of assistive devices. Instructs patients in the proper use of such assistive devices as wheelchairs, canes, braces, or prosthetic devices. Reports changes in the patient's condition and response to therapy interventions, then, appropriately suggest treatment changes to the Licensed Physical Therapist(PT). Documents physical therapy treatment provided, including patient response to treatment. Educates family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using relevant and effective teaching methods. Completes therapeutic modalities, as appropriate, including ultrasound, iontophoresis, and electrical muscle stimulation. Administers corrective exercise and manual techniques for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement. Completes daily documentation and charging in Therapy EMR. Coordinates and collaborates with the PT on patient treatment interventions.

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $23.79per hour - $39.73per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
