Overview

To assist in serving employees/visitors at the Retail Cafeteria in a pleasant but timely manner, in order to assure the best possible service and to maintain a sanitary work area.

Responsibilities

Completes job responsibilities of food preparation and cafeteria service.
  • Maintains daily temperature logs by shift
  • Sets up station prior to service as needed
  • Replenishes food when pans are ½ to ¾ empty
  • Garnishes food daily and at every meal
  • Keeps storage areas are clean and neat
  • Keeps stations always neat and clean
Maintains high standards consistent with quality food service.
  • Maintains a sanitary workstation (i.e., Salad Bar, Deli area, etc.)
  • Follows cleaning schedules
  • Washes and rotates fresh fruit
  • Wraps and labels items in walk-in cooler
  • Does not serve bad food, i.e., brown lettuce or dried food
Works cooperatively with peers, supervisors, food service management and other medical center personnel.
  • Informs leadership of broken items
  • Helps out other employees
  • Fulfills department required education of 6 to 8 hours per year
  • Fulfills required safety education annually
  • Serves a minimum of four (4) customers per minute during busy periods
Accepts responsibility for work area and duties of other positions of higher responsibility when needed.
  • Learns all stations in the retail cafeteria
  • Stays flexible to help cover for absent employees or employees on leave
  • Maintains disposable goods inventory for shift & restocks items before end of shift

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $15.39per hour - $24.93per hour. This represents a good faith minimum and maximum range for the role at the time of posting by Carle Health. The actual compensation offered a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, location, training, licenses, shifts worked and compensation model.
