About this role

Overview

Neighborhood Pet Health Center, a CareVet partner, is looking for a compassionate Veterinarian to join our growing practice in North Richland, Texas. This position is currently offering a six figure minimum base salary plus production, paid parental leave, student loan support, schedule flexibility, and an Equity Bonus Package option valued up to $150,000. We also offer a cash value bonus and retention package. 
   
About the Position   
We are seeking a compassionate Veterinarian as a new addition to our current team. All levels of experience will be considered, but the ideal candidate will have a great attitude, be passionate about veterinary medicine and looking to join a collaborative and communicative team.

Our vet clinic staff is comprised of people who have turned their love for animals into their profession. We specialize in getting your four legged family members back home happy and healthy.  We will provide the best care for your animals whether they are in need of major medical attention or just a place to stay for the weekend and a good bath and hair cut.

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
