About this role

GenCorr Packaging, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Project Manager to support our Alsip, IL corrugated manufacturing facility.  The Project Manager is responsible for directing custom packaging orders from concept and design through production and delivery to customers. This position has experience in retail packaging styles, POP displays, and CPG packaging as well as litho and flexo printing methods. This position includes working with customers and vendors directly as well as inside production and sales teams to coordinate projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Receive orders and order changes either directly from customers or from sales team.
  • Record, process, and place orders timely and accurately.
  • Assist with job cost estimating by gathering pricing data and preparing estimates for management review.               
  • Coordinate with designers for sample production and customers for approval.
  • Communicate with die and material suppliers, and other vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate with production team and shipping team to manage customer expectations of delivery dates.
  • Maintain customer files.
  • Receive and respond to customer complaints and questions and follow-up with appropriate internal personnel as required to improve customer service.
  • Work with Accounting for account questions or disputes from customers and coordinate credits when necessary.
  • Assist sales team as appropriate and assist in generating supplemental sales.
  • Keep appropriate management informed of problems or situations that may affect the performance of the plant.
  • Meet with customers, suppliers, and vendors as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including federal and/or state required environmental systems, OSHA Safety and Health rules, and standard operating procedures.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma (or GED) or higher.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the corrugated industry.
  • Experience with handling retail, POP display and custom packaging.
  • Knowledge of sourcing, process flow, marketing, and delivery.
  • Knowledge of business trends.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work well with others, suppliers, and customers.
  • Knowledge of computers and various production software systems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects.
  • Highly organized; strong team player.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a regular office environment with climate control. Occasionally exposed to the plant area that is not climate controlled and is usually loud.  The employee may encounter moving mechanical parts in the plant and should follow guidelines for specific PPE required in certain areas
