Department Overview: 

AAA (Automation, Analytics & AI) builds automation, analytics and artificial intelligence solutions that drive success for Cardinal Health by creating material savings, efficiencies and revenue growth opportunities. The team drives business innovation by leveraging emerging technologies and turning them into differentiating business capabilities. 

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join the SAS Revenue Management team. This is an agile team focused on building & maintaining various financial engines in SAS for the Revenue Management team of Finance.

Job Overview: 

Designing, building and operationalizing large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of Google Cloud Platform data and analytics services in combination with technologies like Cloud Dataflow, Cloud BigQuery, Cloud PubSub, Cloud Functions, Airflow. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Designing and implementing data transformation, ingestion and curation functions on GCP cloud using GCP native or custom programming.
  • Designing and building production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a hybrid big data architecture, using SQL, Python & other orchestration tools.
  • Understanding the exiting data pipelines and making required modifications as per business request.
  • Optimizing data pipelines for performance and cost for large scale data lakes.
  • Equip the business with timely insights to enable proactive customer engagement and action.
  • Lead the efforts to enhance and maintain Data Pipeline processes that provide decision support for business leaders.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures to achieve specific goals. Ensures employees operate within guidelines. 
  • Acquire, validate, standardize, enrich, protect and publish structured and unstructured data for use by the business.
  • Provide the competencies and skills to team members needed to enable the environment for results.
  • Helping the team to overcome external dependencies and planning the sprint deliveries.  

Desired Qualifications: 

  •  Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of Data Engineering experience in modern data engineering technologies, including at least once cloud.
  • 2+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, etc. 
  • 2+ years of hands-on GCP experience in Data Engineering and Cloud Analytics solutions.
  • Understanding of Data Modelling and Dimension modelling concepts.
  • Experience in designing and optimizing data models on GCP cloud using GCP data stores such as BigQuery.
  • Hands-on experience with Data Ingestion technologies like GCP DataFlow, Orchestration tool like AirFlow and scripting languages like Python or Shell Scripting.
  • Understanding of Agile ceremonies and frameworks.
  • Experience with version control systems like GIT &  CI/CD pipelines such as Concourse, Jenkins.
  • Google Cloud Platform certification is a plus.
  • Hands on experience in any data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau is a plus.
  • Good communication skills and ability to understand Cardinal Health business.
